We did not know how bad He was!

Obama’s administration has added 11,327 pages to the Code of Federal Regulations over the past three years. The President is also responsible for over $5.4 trillion in new debt in his first term. Obamacare has eighteen pagesto define a full-time employee. That should tell you all you need to know about Obamacare. The unemployment rate has remained above 8% for most of Obama’s term. The real unemployment rate, one that quits counting the long-term unemployed as if they don’t really want a job)  is 14.7%. These things are all related. Obama’s policies are exactly opposite of what we need to create jobs and spark the economy. The tons of regulations are big disincentives for job creation.

Randy Johnson, senior vice president of labor, immigration and employee benefits at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in a Labor Day briefing, distributed a handout of a Congressional Research Service analysis of a 2008 study commissioned by the Small Business Administration that estimated the annual compliance price for all federal regulations at $1.7 trillion that year. That was before Obama dumped over 11,000 new pages of regulation on our economy.

Obama cannot run on his record so he continues to use the tired line that “we did not know how bad the economy was”. This contradicts his entire 2008 Presidential campaign where he said our economy was the worse since the Great Depression. We expect this from a man who even lied in his autobiography. Bill Clinton, also not a man known for his honesty, parroted this ridiculous claim at the Democrat convention when he said that no President, not even (the great) Bill Clinton, could have fixed the economy in a mere four years.

The reason our economy is in the tank, our credit has been downgraded, our debt has skyrocketed and unemployment is at 14.7% is because of Obama’s policies, period. The good news is that the fix is not all that complicated. Romney’s five point plan is right on target. His plan is:

  1. By 2020, North America will be energy independent by taking invented of our oil, are coal, our gas, our nuclear, and renewables.
  2. We will give our fellow citizens the skills they need for the jobs of today and the careers of tomorrow. When it comes to the school your child will attend, every parent should have a choice, and every child should have a chance.
  3. We will make trade work for America by forging new trade agreements, and when nations cheat in trade, there will be unmistakable consequences.
  4. To assure every entrepreneur and every job creator that their investments in America will not vanish, as have those in Greece. We will cut the deficit and put America on track to a balanced budget.
  5. We will champion small businesses, America’s engine of job growth. That means reducing taxes on business, not raising them. It means simplifying and modernizing the regulations that hurt small businesses the most and it means we must rein in skyrocketing cost of health care by repealing and replacing Obamacare.

With a President Romney, if the GOP holds the House and can get to 51 seats in the Senate (60 would be much better) then America has a chance.

5 Reasons to Vote Romney/Ryan

Here are the five top reasons to vote for the GOP nominees.

1. Jobs. Romney-Ryan (RR) know how to create real jobs, not government make-work pork spending re-packaged as stimulus spending.

2. Obamacare. Romney-Ryan know how devastating Obamacare is and will be on our economy. The GOP must have majorities in both the House and Senate to pull off a repeal.

3. The debt & deficit. Romney-Ryan are serious about eliminating the deficit and paying down our debt. Obama and the Democrat party have no interest in this.

4. Supreme Court. There may be as many as three retirements over the next Presidential term. Mitt Romney will appoint conservatives to the Court, Obama will appoint people who do not believe in our Constitution.

5. Education. Mitt Romney has a plan to reform education. The unions and the government have destroyed our primary education system.

NBC, Your Bias is showing

It is understandable to get depressed when you hear news that Obama is up by x points in the most recent poll. After all, polling is scientific, right? Well polling is a statistical process that if done correctly can be said to be statistically valid. But most political polls are just tools to prop up a candidate, demoralize the opposition and or to create a news story. Polls are frequently manipulated by pollsters calling the same (reliable) Democrats time and again. Also, you will see that most polls by the major networks or newspapers are taken of “registered voters”. The only credible way to poll an outcome of an election is to poll “likely voters”. Another technique used is to skew the universe of people to be polled. The universe is often manipulated to favor Democrats.

The recent NBC/WSJ poll showed that President Obama is up by 6 points in the Presidential race. Of course the main stream media and Democrat consultants are giddy about this and are hyping it up. There are a couple of big problems with this. First, it was a poll of registered voters rather than likely voters. The other problem is the sample itself.  They sampled 46 % Democrats including leaners versus 35% Republicans including leaners. NBC knows that Romney wins with independents and Republicans. Here is a table of the sample used:

Party Affiliation % of Total
Strong Democrat

24%

Not very strong Democrat

11%

Independent/Lean Democrat

11%

Strictly Independent

16%

Independent/Lean Republican

12%

The universe certainly is not representative of the US population. This poll was clearly a way to rescue Obama from his falling popularity.

Real Clear Politics (RCP) calculates an average of several polls on an ongoing basis. They show Obama up by 1.3. However, you will notice that most polls use registered voters. The Real Clear average of likely voters has Romney up by a half point.

The RCP average of likely voters is usually pretty close. The last RCP before the 2008 election had Obama at 52.1 versus McCain at 44.5. The final results were 52.9 vs. 45.6. The Rasmussen poll is the most credible poll out there. It had the race at 52-46, right on the mark. Currently Rasmussen has the 2012 race at 44-47, Romney. Don’t get caught up in the main stream media’s attempts to prop up their candidate.
