NaiveAmerican Most of us can probably remember when we had moments of naivety in our youth. Embarrassing moments but we learned from our experiences. We are now witnessing moments of naivety at the highest level, the President and his administration and the mayor of Chicago.

Barack Obama while campaigning on November 21, 2007 had this to say: “Well, I truly believe that the day I’m inaugurated, not only does the country look at itself differently but the world looks at America differently. If I’m reaching out to the Muslim world they understand that I’ve lived in a Muslim country and I may be a Christian but I also understand their point of view… My sister is half Indonesian, I traveled there all the way through my college years and so I’m intimately concerned with what happens in these countries and the cultures and the perspectives these folks have. And those are powerful tools for us to be able to reach out to the world and when you combine that with my work on the Senate Forum Relations Committee on everything from nuclear proliferation to issues of genocide then I think that the world will have confidence that I am listening to them and that our future and our security is tied up with our ability to work with other countries in the world. That will ultimately make us safer, and that’s something that [the Bush] administration has failed to understand.” He also said, “After my inauguration, the Middle East tensions will not exist.”

This may be naivety or just plain old arrogance. To think that just because he is a Muslim himself that the world of Muslims will forget their centuries’ old hatred of anyone non-Muslim is just ridiculous. I don’t believe he is naive at all. His mission is to punish the imperial beast called America. This mission comes from the father that he barely knew. No the naivety here is in the American people who vote Democrat year after year. They believe crap like this. They also fall into the trap of believing that the failed foreign policies of Jimmy Carter and now Obama of appeasement, apology and subordination will be successful. If we are just nice to the world they will love and respect us. Wrong. This voter naivety is only possible in a society where the primary media outlets fail to report reality in order to support the candidates most aligned with their ideology (the Democrat Party). This is also not possible if schools would actually teach history. The Democrat Party has made sure that this does not happen for generations now.

In Chicago Obama’s former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is stunned that the teachers union is actually striking on his watch. After all, the public sector unions and the Democrat Party are one in the same. Money is sucked out of union pay checks, bundled and sent to the Democrats, and then money is sucked from taxpayers and returned to unions. What he does not understand is that the unions care about only one thing, dues. Albert Shanker, founder of the United Federation of Teachers, said “When schoolchildren start paying union dues, that’s when I’ll start representing the interests of school children.” Its fun to watch him squirm.

George Bush rightly declared that we are at war with terrorism. With a few isolated exceptions world-wide terrorism is perpetrated by Muslims following their war doctrine the Quran. Obama, elected because of naive voters falling for a promise of hope and change, has surrendered and laid down our arms. He is perfectly willing to allow Muslims to continue their religious quest to either convert or kill the world. There is no hope that the base of the Democrat Party will vote for anybody but a Democrat. Obama has made sure of that handcuffing millions more onto the food stamp program and when Obamacare kicks in the country will be one dependent State, just like Europe. No the independent voters must decide which America is for them. An America that is exceptional, the greatest country on earth. An America that is the strongest country in the world but the country with moral fiber. An America that is the world leader presiding over a safe world. Or just another mediocre member of the United Nations in a very dangerous world.

Our Choice is Clear

coal, debt, defecit, education, election, energy, energy independence, hope and change, Mitt Romney, Obama, Obamacare, President, teachers union, unions

Over the last four years under President Obama we have experienced the worst economic times since the days of Jimmy Carter. Obama has added more to our national debt than all previous presidents combined. To make matters worse the President has apologized repeatedly for the US and has lowered our stature in the world, reducing us to followers. He has failed to deliver on his lofty promise of hope and change.

Mitt Romney may be our only hope. This country cannot afford another four years of Obama’s “divide and conquer” administration. Mitt, in his nomination acceptance speech, talked about America’s greatness, he talked of optimism and that fact that we were always a unified country. He outlined what his top five priorities will be if elected:

  1. By 2020, North America will be energy independent by taking invented of our oil, are coal, our gas, our nuclear, and renewables.
  2. We will give our fellow citizens the skills they need for the jobs of today and the careers of tomorrow. When it comes to the school your child will attend, every parent should have a choice, and every child should have a chance.
  3. We will make trade work for America by forging new trade agreements, and when nations cheat in trade, there will be unmistakable consequences.
  4. To assure every entrepreneur and every job creator that their investments in America will not vanish, as have those in Greece. We will cut the deficit and put America on track to a balanced budget.
  5. We will champion small businesses, America’s engine of job growth. That means reducing taxes on business, not raising them. It means simplifying and modernizing the regulations that hurt small businesses the most and it means we must rein in skyrocketing cost of health care by repealing and replacing Obamacare.

Mitt Romney knows what it takes to turn failing companies into successful companies. His plan is simple yet right on point. Each priority is in sharp contrast to Obama’s ideas. It is about time that we have as a top national goal to be energy independent. Obama has worked against this, shutting down oil rigs, piling on regulations on the coal and gas industries and stopping the Canadian pipeline project. Obama wants to protect the teachers union so giving parents a choice of where there children go to school is not in his plans. Similarly his obsession with unions has prevented him from pursuing trade deals. And Obama has shown his ignorance of economics by calling for tax increases on the job creators. The choice in this election could not be any clearer.

Hope Surfaces in Tampa

Ann Romney, Chris Christi, fail, GOP Convention, hope, hope and change, Mitt Romney, teachers, union

The first night of the 2012 GOP convention was packed with powerful speeches that provide hope to America. Hope that we will have a new leader, hope that we will be serious about addressing the debt and deficit, hope that America will be strong again and hope that we will return to the principles that made America the greatest country in the world.

we built it

Some memorable quotes from Governor Chris Christi’s speech:

  • You see, I believe we have become paralyzed, paralyzed by our desire to be loved. Now our founding fathers had the wisdom to know that social acceptance and popularity were fleeing, and that this country’s principles needed to be rooted in strengths greater than the passions and the emotions of the times. But our leaders of today have decided it’s more important to be popular, to say and do what’s easy, and say yes rather than to say no, when no is what is required.
  • They believe the educational savages will only put themselves ahead of children, that self-interest will always trump common sense, they believe in pitting unions against teachers, educators against parents, lobbyists against children.
They believe in teachers’ unions . We believe in teachers.
  • I am here to tell you tonight, it is time to end this era of absentee leadership in the oval office and send real leaders to the White House.
  • I know we can be the men and women our country calls on us to be tonight. I believe in America and her history, and
there’s only one thing missing now. Leadership. It takes leadership that you don’t get from reading a poll. You see, Mr. President, real leaders do not follow polls. Real leaders change polls.
  • We believe — we believe we should honor and reward the good ones (teachers), while doing what’s best for our nation’s future, demanding accountability, demanding higher standards, and demanding the best teacher in every classroom in America.

Ann Romney also gave a powerful speech. Here are some highlights:

  • I read somewhere that Mitt and I have a storybook marriage. Well, let me tell you something. In the storybooks I read,
there never were long, long rainy winter afternoons in a house with five boys screaming at once, and those storybooks never seemed to have chapter’s called M.S. or breast cancer. A storybook marriage? Nope, not at all. What Mitt Romney and I have is a real marriage.
  • I love America
  • You can trust Mitt. He loves America.
  • This is the man America needs. This is a man who will wake up every day with the determination to solve the problems that others say cannot be solved, to fix what others say is beyond repair, this is the man who will work harder than anyone so that we can work a little less hard.

I can’t tell you what will happen over the next four years. But I can only stand here tonight as a wife and a mother and a grandmother, an American, and make you this solemn commitment.

This man will not fail.

Hopelessness & Fundamental Change

apologize, apology tour, coal, fascist, fundamental change, hope and change, liberty, limited government, moral, Obama, Obamacare, oil, personal responsibility, private property, religion, rights, rule of law, socialism

“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” These words were spoken by candidate Barack Hussein Obama in 2008. Since becoming President he mentions his desire to fundamentally change America often. Why? America is the greatest country on the planet. Of course it is not perfect but its fundamental principles are what make it great.

Obama does not believe in American exceptionalism and has said so many times. He wants to go beyond just fundamentally changing America. In his speech, titled “A World That Stands as One,” Senator Obama spoke of “global citizenship” and vowed, just as he would to fundamentally transform America, to “remake the world once again.” As Senator Obama proclaimed himself first and foremost a citizen of the world and apologized for our having a voice in world affairs louder than others. He spent much of his first year as President apologizing for America and bowing to foreign leaders.

Let’s see how Obama is trying to change America, and into what. Below are my ideas of our founding principles and how they are under attack by Obama.

Our Founding Principles Obama’s America
1. Rights come from God, not government.
  • Obama clearly believes that the federal government decides what our rights should be. His crowning achievement, Obamacare, creates a new right, the right for all to have healthcare. He does this by requiring all to buy or obtain healthcare, an unprecedented government edict.
  • When quoting from the Declaration of Independence, Obama leaves out a few important words: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. He leaves out “that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights”.
2.  Limited Government/States Rights Obama does not believe in State’s rights at all.

  • He sued Arizona over its law to protect their borders.
  • He ordered Florida to stop purging illegal aliens from their voting rolls.
  • The Obama administration sued to block enforcement of Alabama’s new immigration law.
  • He tried to stop Boeing, a private company, from building a new plant in North Carolina.
3. Individual Liberty.
  • Obamacare is a direct attack on our individual liberty, requiring all to have healthcare. The mandate that religious employers, including schools, hospitals, and charities, provide health care coverage for abortion-inducing drugs and contraception despite the fact that such coverage is in total contradiction of many of these groups’ core religious beliefs.
  • Under President Obama’s failed leadership, the national debt has gone up $5 trillion to an unprecedented $15.8 trillion – that is $50,000 per person. This is an assault on our liberty.
4. Personal Responsibility.
  • Obama belittles personal responsibility and success. His message is that in order to succeed in life you need the government. During his term the number of Americans on food stamps is 45 million, up 70% from four years ago.
  • Obama took away the work requirement from the welfare program.
  • Obama is setting a bad example to our youth by not taking responsibility for his failed policies. He has blamed Bush, hurricanes, ATMs, kiosks in airports, Europe, hot weather and on and on, anybody or anything but himself.
5. Private Property Rights.
  • Obama through his agencies have created a host of new regulations attacking property rights and killing job creation. Nothing new from Democrats, but he wants to kill the coal industry, stop fracking, and handcuff the oil industry.
6. Free Market Economy
  • Obama believes in big government. Again nothing new from a Democrat. But he goes much farther. In this quote he basically says that the capitalist model of America does not work and never did – “It’s a simple theory — one that speaks to our rugged individualism and healthy skepticism of too much government. It fits well on a bumper sticker. Here’s the problem: It doesn’t work,” Obama said of supply-side economics, drawing extended applause. “It’s never worked.”
  • Obama has waged a war on success in America. He does not believe in the American dream of working hard and succeeding. Rather he wants to punish success by re-distributing the wealth.
  • Gasoline prices have gone from $1.79 on average on the day that he was inaugurated to $3.59 today. He put moratoriums on oil drilling in the gulf, blocked the Keystone pipeline from Canada, and revoked an existing coal permit that was properly approved years ago.
7. National Sovereignty/ Government should provide for the Common Defense
  • Obama is not interested in our sovereignty. He is naive about the threats around the world. He asked how Iran can be a threat, it is “tiny”.
  • He does not view the Muslim Brotherhood as a threat. He supports them in Egypt and around the world.
  • He does not believe in a war on terror. He has banned the phrase “Islamic terrorist” from our vocabulary.
  • He has unilaterally reduced our nuclear weapons, set deadlines for troop removal whether it is safe or not, and he believes in “global governance” and “international law”.
8. Constitutional Rule of Law.
  • Obama instructed his Justice Department to stop defending (not enforce) the Defense of Marriage Act.
  • Obama’s administration sued the State of Arizona to block its immigration law. He directed federal immigration officials not to respond to local traffic stops or law-enforcement encounters in Arizona unless the detained person is a recent border crosser, has already been removed from the country and reentered the United States unlawfully, or is a convicted criminal.
  • President Obama unilaterally gutted the Clinton administration’s signature achievement—welfare reform. The administration announced that it will waive the central tenet of law—the requirements that recipients work or prepare (through approved education or training) to do so. Although certain aspects of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act are subject to waiver, the federal work requirements are not among them.
  • Because the Dream Act failed to be passed, Obama announced that it would not deport illegal aliens who had only violated the immigration laws.
  • His administration has virtually gutted the No Child Left Behind act.
  • The Obama administration sued to block enforcement of Alabama’s new immigration law.
  • Obama’s Attorney General refused to prosecute the New Black Panthers for clear voter intimidation.
  • The Justice Department blocks any voting reform that requires an ID.
9.  A free people cannot survive under a republican constitution unless they remain virtuous and morally strong.10.  The core unit which determines the strength of any society is the family
  • Obama stated that he believed in traditional marriage while campaigning. He refuses to enforce the Defense of marriage Act, and has since showed his true colors and supports gay marriage.
  • He attacked our freedom of religion by requiring all to provide contraception to their workers in government-mandated health insurance plans.
  • Obama wants to reinstate the marriage penalty by letting the fix that is in the Bush tax cuts expire.

This is not a comprehensive list. Obama clearly wants to change America. He does not like America. He would not have spent years listening to the hatred of Reverend Jeremiah Wright if he had any love for our country. His wife famously said that she was never proud of her country before Obama was elected. Dinesh D’Souza, a conservative author, argues that Obama’s father instilled in him an anti-colonialist world view that dictates the president’s policy decisions and makes him “emphatically” different from past Democratic presidents. This does help explain his apology tour and lack of belief in American exceptionalism. It also explains why he removed a bust of Winston Churchill and shipped it back to England in his first days as President. We need to restore our fundamental principles not run away from them.
